This is the perfect tour if you have only one week for Turkey. You will see the highlights of Turkey and have a true idea about the country.
The tour starts in Istanbul. When you arrive to Istanbul, your guide will be waiting for you and you will have a welcome dinner tonight. In Istanbul you will visit all the major sites like Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Hippodrome and Grand Bazaar.
Your first flight will be to Pamukkale which is a unique place to visit. This natural site is mingled with an old Roman city which was called Hierapolis. Here you will have chance to swim at the thermal pond over the ruins of a temple.
Selcuk: Beautiful small town with a strong history
Another destination of the tour is Selcuk. Selcuk is a beautiful small town with a strong history. You will see the house where Virgin Mary lived for a while. Artemis Temple, one of the wonders of ancient world is here as well. Also Ephesus, one of the best preserved Roman cities, is here as well. While visiting Ephesus you will be walking on the original streets, go in to Roman villas and buildings. You will also visit Sirince Village and learn about the dramatic population exchange between Greece and Ottoman Empire in 1920s.
Cappadocia, a magical land
From Selcuk, you will fly to Cappadocia, a magical land. This is another place where nature is mingled with history. This 15 million years old volcanic region is accommodating people since 10000 BC. Once people understand that these volcanic rocks are soft to dig, then, they started to build their lives in these hills and mountains. They build their houses, stables, temples and shelters in the hills all around Cappadocia. Since we found almost 600 rock cut churches, you can tell it is an important place for Christianity as well.
From Cappadocia you will fly back to Istanbul. Next day tour will be finished. You will be transferred to the airport depending on your departure flight.
